Questions & Answers
Everything you might want to know about our saffron, delivery, and how to trace your batch.
What grade is your saffron?
Every batch is independently tested against ISO 3632:2011 and meets Category I, the highest grade. See our Provenance page for the reference values.
How do I store saffron?
Keep it in its sealed pack, away from light, heat, and moisture. Stored well, it holds its strength for around three years.
How much saffron should I use?
A small pinch (roughly 15 to 20 threads) is plenty for most dishes serving four. Steep the threads in a little warm water for ten minutes to release the colour and aroma.
What does the QR code on my pack do?
Scan it with your phone camera to see the field the saffron came from, the lab certificate for that batch, and the date your pack was sealed in London.
Do your products contain allergens?
Some products contain or are packed near nuts. Always check the ingredients and allergy information on each product page before buying.
Is your saffron suitable during pregnancy?
Culinary amounts used in cooking are generally considered fine, but concentrated or large amounts are not recommended. If you are pregnant, please speak to your doctor or midwife first.
How fast is delivery?
Standard UK delivery is 2 to 4 working days, with free delivery on UK mainland orders over £40. Full details are on our Delivery & Returns page.
Can I return an order?
Opened food items cannot be returned for safety reasons, but we will always put right anything faulty, damaged, or incorrect. See Delivery & Returns.
Do you offer trade or wholesale pricing?
Yes. Trade pricing is provided on request through our Wholesale application form. Saffron is VAT exempt in the UK.
Do I need an account to order?
No, you can check out as a guest. An account lets you track orders and trace your batches more easily. You can create one here.
