To Brew

Use one teaspoon of leaf per cup. Pour water just off the boil (around 90°C) and steep for three to four minutes — longer for a stronger cup. The saffron deepens the colour to a soft amber.

To Serve

Beautiful on its own, or with a little honey. A splash of milk softens it into something closer to a spiced chai.

Storage

Keep the pack sealed in a cool, dry cupboard away from strong smells and direct light. Loose tea keeps its aroma best when it is not left open.

Saffron tea is an old comfort across the regions where the spice grows — poured for guests, for the unwell, for the simple pleasure of it. We blend ours to be drunk that way: unhurried, golden, and a little ceremonious.
